Home Equity Line of Credit rates?

compare credit cards
We are shopping around and did get approved for a $250,000 HELOC with a 8.25% interest rate. Is this a good rate? I mean compared to a credit card it is (owe $3,000 at 16% interest) but how about as a Line of credit?

I have a debit(check) card only. So why do I sometimes have to click “credit” to transact?

compare credit cards
Hello!

I don’t use credit cards. Never have, never will. I spend what I have, and if I don’t have money, I don’t spend!

But I do have a debit(Check) card, because it is a convenience compared to carrying cash, and of course it is a convenience to pay bills via online and all.

But sometimes when I get gas at the pump, I click “debit” and it tells me to use another form of payment. So, I click “credit” and use my card, and it works jolly well!

So why is this? Why do I sometimes have to click “credit” to use my DEBIT card? Are there any additional charges or anything? Maybe it doesn’t attempt to withdraw from my account until later? (Like I got gas two days ago, and it still hasn’t gone through my card.)

I would like to know because I don’t want to do anything that could cost me extra money or anything lol

Trouble paying credit card bills – What to do?

compare credit cards
Unfortunately I am unemployed for quite a few months now and am having trouble finding a job. Please for you people out there who are going to say to work at a fast food restaurant if I could I would, but I have 2 daughters (4 yrs & 1 month) and the price of daycare compared to the price I would get paid there would cost me more to work, I already looked into it. My husband works as much as he can, 2 jobs, OT whatever he can do he does. My question is I have some credit card bills that I am struggling to pay and called them and they were nice enough to defer some payments and to not charge interest & lowered my monthly payment for 12 months. I have one credit card (actually an installment loan) from Capital One that will NOT work with me . I was able to pay the payment without a problem while employed, but now there is no way I can make the entire payment. I feel like my only option is NOT to pay since I don’t have the money. If I had it I would pay. I have gone through all of my savings & can’t afford it. What other options do I have since they are not willing to work with me?

How would your family feel if you went from common sense budgeting to borrow and spend?

compare credit cards
lets say you own a family business and employ your kids and everyone is doing well all living in the same house. The parents are working the children are working in the business and everyone is making good money. Then suddenly one year, you decided to layoff your children and hire cheaper labor, and decided to stop spending within your means but that you thought it was great to spend as much as you wanted, charge up your credit cards to the hilt and get loans from whoever would make loans to you so that you could keep spending. So the question here is…..what would the mood be like in your family after a while? How would your children feel about you? What kind of stress would you be feeling compared to how things were when common sense drove your decision making?
